Already announced some time ago, I have now finally been able to try them out myself: The new fourth generation Philips Hue Bloom. After LivingColors and Friends of Hue, the mood light has now really arrived in the Hue world and offers Bluetooth connectivity in addition to the familiar ZigBee connection via the Hue Bridge.

I'm on holiday in the Netherlands until Monday. During this time I'm being wonderfully represented by my colleague Frederick. However, I have not been completely idle, as I also used my time in the Netherlands to visit the Philips Hue headquarters in Eindhoven on Friday. It is a well-known problem: classic light switches and Philips Hue. It is best to keep them on all the time but that really doesn't always work. The Versteckdose (engl. “hidden socket”) wants to provide a solution for this problem – and offers a big advantage compared to simply removing the classic light switch: The existing cables are simply used for a socket outlet.
