With all the light strips that Philips Hue is launching this year, it’s easy to lose track. Not if you keep my little overview in mind, of course. After the Hue Flux and the Hue OmniGlow, the third candidate has now arrived for me to test.
I’ve already had the opportunity to try out the Hue Flux Ultra Bright Lightstrip. After quickly unpacking it, I immediately noticed that it’s really bright, even though I haven’t reached the maximum 6,000 lumens yet.
I received the shortest version, which is 3 meters long and reaches a maximum of 2,900 lumens. But that’s still pretty impressive when you consider that the brightest light strips to date have had a maximum brightness of 1,800 lumens. The Hue OmniGlow, which is not yet available in Europe, is not much less bright at 2,700 lumens. However, it has a maximum brightness of 4,500 lumens.
The direct comparison between Hue Flux and Hue Flux Ultra Bright is pretty clear, even with the 3-meter “short” version. I can definitely imagine that the ultra-bright light strip could be very interesting for one project or another.
Feel free to write in the comments which of the new Hue Lightstrips you have already purchased or which ones you might want to buy. And, of course, what you plan to do with them. I look forward to hearing your opinions and ideas.
