FabianWith the launch of the Hue Flux and the Hue Flux Ultra Bright, Philips Hue has definitely headed in the right direction. The light strips have become more affordable, can display color gradients, and—if desired—are even brighter than ever before. Plus, Philips Hue is one of the few manufacturers that offers accessories allowing the light strips to be connected to one another and laid out flexibly.
I’ve already given you a detailed overview of these accessories—which include 90-degree corner connectors and flexible extension cables, among other items. That’s definitely a good start, but it might not be quite right for your specific project. And that’s exactly where Lightstrip Anonymous comes in.
Lightstrip Anonymous is a small British company that now offers new accessories for the Hue Flux series. What makes them special: The products can be ordered in custom lengths of up to eight meters. The downside: Production can take a little while, and the prices aren’t exactly cheap—partly due to shipping and customs fees. Currently, however, there’s no alternative if you don’t want to build your own.
Take, for example, the Flux Spacer extension cable, which apparently uses the official adapters for the Lightstrip itself. It can be ordered in various lengths ranging from 5 to 800 centimeters. In terms of design, you can choose a classic round cable in white; flat cables in black or white are also available as alternatives.
For 16.95 euros, you get a short, flexible corner piece, just like the one we’re familiar with from the Lightstrip Plus. I find this quite handy if you don’t want to go exactly 90 degrees around a corner. Lightstrip Anonymous also offers a parallel adapter to which three to eight individual light strips can be connected. You can also order a splitter—essentially a Y-cable for the start of the strip and the cut-off section of a Hue Flux light strip—from Lightstrip Anonymous.
