A hexagon icon was spotted in the Philips Hue app a few weeks ago, and now there are more details: A Philips Hue Wall Light Module is set to launch, allowing users to connect Nanoleaf’s well-known LED modules to the Hue app.
Specifically, this applies to Nanoleaf’s three current LED modules: the Nanoleaf Shapes in the Mini Triangles, Triangles, and Hexagons variants. Older Nanoleaf LED panels—formerly known as Aurora—are not supported by the new Philips Hue Wall Light Module.

The technical integration of the Nanoleaf modules into the Hue app is achieved via a small white adapter, which is just under 8 centimeters wide and plugs into the Nanoleaf LED installation via a connector. This allows the Nanoleaf LED panels to appear in the Philips Hue app.
Controls within the app are, once again, kept relatively simple. While all Nanoleaf modules are controlled individually, “only” five light points appear in the Hue app. You can then position these anywhere on the color wheel as you like. Of course, there will also be support for the various Hue scenes and effects in the Hue app.
The Philips Hue Wall Light Module supports up to 100 Nanoleaf LED modules, so we’re talking about truly large-scale installations here. Price-wise, however, the whole setup will likely remain reasonable; speculation suggests the Philips Hue Nanoleaf module will cost 39.99 euros.
At Philips Hue’s upcoming IFA presentation, the new Nanoleaf integration will certainly be one of the highlights. We can look forward to learning the technical details and the background of the partnership between Philips Hue and Nanoleaf, which was recently acquired by an Asian manufacturer.
Wondering if this has something to do with Nanoleaf reportedly pivoting away from lighting after the acquisition by Switchbot.
Speculation: what if Nanoleaf shapes etc. will soon be a Hue product and this module is part of the transition?

Nanoleaf is not pivoting away from lighting,
Nanoleaf was not aquired by Switchbot. It is aquired by the company that also aquired Switchbot.
I’d be interested to know if the control is extended / capable of integrating the Nanoleaf Elements Hexagons which are tuneable white only.
Nothing in the FAQs would say no, and they are part of the Hexagons range..?

Sounds exciting, but since Hue keeps delaying a number of products in North America, I have to keep my expectations low. Still waiting for the Flux Ultra Bright and Omniglow at longer lengths for a year now, with no ETA is sight. There was supposed to be out this March and then no word from Hue. Bad customer PR.
