FabianIt seems almost certain that Philips Hue will unveil new products this coming Thursday. Some details have already leaked, and most recently, a AMA session with Hue creator George Yianni was announced for this very Thursday.
The control hubs are also already being prepared for the launch of the new products. Philips Hue began rolling out the corresponding updates yesterday. These may not reach you immediately, but should be available in the coming days.
For the Hue Bridge Pro, software version 1.79.2071476010 is being rolled out; the previous version was 2071401010. For the Hue Bridge, the update jumps from version 1978074000 to the new firmware 1.79.1978293000.
“This version of the Bridge software paves the way for support of many exciting new features—so stay tuned,” the description states. It continues: “We’ve made a few small changes behind the scenes to help your Hue Bridge work even better.”
Updates for the Hue App and Hue Secure Cameras
In addition, the next software update for the Philips Hue app is expected by next Thursday at the latest. It’s been more than three weeks since the last update; normally, a new app version is released every two weeks. What should be particularly exciting here is exactly how Philips Hue integrates the Nanoleaf panels with its new adapter module. We’ll certainly know more next week!
I’d also like to mention the Hue Secure cameras, which already received a new update last week (1.3.1.1294190). The update includes general bug fixes and improvements to overall reliability for recorded clips and events. By the way, I could imagine a new Hue Secure camera with a rechargeable battery and 2K resolution coming soon…
