In Europe, Philips Hue raised the price of the Hue Bridge Pro—which was only launched last September—a few weeks ago. In Germany and other countries, the price went from €89.99 to €99.99. Not exactly great news, but ultimately still a moderate price increase. The situation is quite different in the US.
To be honest, I don’t constantly check the Philips Hue US online store, and I don’t have all the prices memorized. At launch, however, the Hue Bridge Pro cost $98.99 there—so even back then, it was already more expensive than in Europe.
So I can’t say exactly how long the current price for the Hue Bridge Pro has been in effect—but it’s $139.99, which is about 40 percent higher than before.
Even though the Hue Bridge Pro has now gained two features—MotionAware and SpatialAware—that aren’t compatible with the standard Hue Bridge, that’s really quite a steep price. Personally, I would think very carefully about whether to buy the Hue Bridge Pro at this price.

Has Philips Hue raised prices in Canada as well?
In addition to my little discovery, another piece of news reached me this week. A reader from Canada wrote to me: “Hello, I was looking on the Canadian website today and their prices have increased. It looks like for the majority of the products.” Unfortunately, I can’t give you any specific figures here, as I don’t have the prices on hand. But feel free to write in the comments if you’ve noticed anything as well.
And since the question has come up frequently from North America: I unfortunately have no idea when the longer versions of the Philips Hue OmniGlow Lightstrip will finally be available in the U.S. either.

This must be very recent as only the Apple Store and the Hue Store have this at $139.99 so far – other stores are all still $98.99. I recently paid just under $80 from Crutchfield.
