Philips Hue continues to update its product range. Following the Hue Flourish table lamp, which has already been equipped with an improved light source, it is now the turn of the Philips Hue Turaco. An updated version has already appeared on Amazon Germany and is expected to be available from the end of February. And there are several noteworthy details here.
Like the Hue Flourish table lamp, the Hue Turaco wall lamp is not a new product, but has been available for several years. Until now, however, it has only been available with a simple Hue White light bulb – and that is exactly what will change in the future.
What will happen to the Hue Turaco pedestal lamp and path light?
The Hue Turaco wall light is already listed in online stores with White and Color Ambiance functionality. This means that it is no longer limited to fixed white light, but can also produce colored light and various shades of white. What’s particularly exciting is that the price of the new generation on Amazon is no different from the old generation – even though there has been a significant technological upgrade.
I don’t have any further information about the other variants in the Hue Turaco series yet. In addition to the wall light, there is also a base light (currently €129.99) and a slightly larger path light (currently €149.99). These two models have also used a Hue White lamp up to now. I could well imagine that there will also be an upgrade to White and Color Ambiance here.
Since everything remains the same with the actual hardware, we are talking about product maintenance for both the Flourish and the Turaco. Major new Philips Hue releases are usually presented in June and September. So we will have to be patient until then.
