A quick glance at the calendar tells us that Black Friday isn’t actually until November 28. At Philips Hue, the Black Friday sale has already started today. The Hue Flux Lightstrip is something like the new all-rounder from Philips Hue. My first impression was already very positive, and another version is set to be released soon in the form of the ultra-bright Hue Flux Lightstrip. However, I did ask myself one question during the presentation in September: What about extensions for the two new light strips?
The new Hue Flux Lightstrip has been available since mid-September and performed very well in my initial hands-on. The ultra-bright version of the Hue Flux Lightstrip is set to launch shortly. It has a maximum brightness of 6,000 lumens. It can produce almost 1,000 lumens per meter. No Philips Hue light strip has ever been this bright.
This week was a whirlwind, at least for all Hue fans in Europe. On Tuesday, the Hue Flux Lightstrip was launched, initially in lengths of 3 and 4 meters. Philips Hue unveiled seven new light strips at the beginning of the month, the first of which is now available in Europe. You can already buy the Hue Flux Lightstrip in lengths of 3, 4, 5, and 10 meters, but the six-meter version is not yet available. Nevertheless, the light strip has gotten off to an early start; it was actually supposed to be released in October.
The new Hue Flux Lightstrip was actually supposed to be released in October. At least, that was the official information provided by Philips Hue so far. However, at least two of the five announced lengths have now been released much sooner than planned—they are already available for purchase in Europe.
Over the course of the year, Philips Hue will launch seven new light strips for indoor and outdoor use. They will replace the previous models, such as the Hue Lightstrip Plus and the Hue Outdoor Lightstrip. To help you keep track of all the new models, I have compiled the most important facts and figures for you.
