As expected, things have quietened down somewhat at Philips Hue over the New Year period in terms of the regularity of software updates. For example, there have been no updates for the official Hue app since mid-December. Now, a new software version for the Hue Bridge and Hue Bridge Pro has been rolling out for several days.
Since 8 January, Philips Hue has been distributing software version 2071193000 for the Hue Bridge Pro and software version 1975104000 for the ‘normal’ Hue Bridge. In principle, the two updates are identical.
‘We have prepared the Bridge so that it can display your automations on the screens of the rooms and zones it controls. This feature will be available in the app in the coming weeks,’ says Philips Hue in the update description.
Feature already officially announced
Philips Hue already announced this new feature at CES in Las Vegas. Similarly, the wired Hue Secure cameras are to be integrated into Apple Home and a whole new feature is to be added with SpatialAware. However, there is no further news on this other than what we already know.
With the firmware update for the two control centres, Philips Hue is of course giving us the usual note: ‘We’ve made a few small changes to make your Hue Bridge run even better.’ If you have automatic software updates enabled, you should already have received the new version. Otherwise, just check the settings yourself.
Next up is the Hue app again. After a month without updates, the next update is expected to be released next week – possibly with a little more clarity in the room view.
It seems they finally fixed the issue with wrong IPs being pulled from the API with this update.
This update seemed to kill existing Matter pairings on the Pro hub.
Is there an official statement from the devs?
My entire Hue has no response on HomeKit
“My entire Hue has no response on HomeKit” -> I can confirm that. Are there any updates on when or how this issue will be resolved?
After the 2071209010 update for the Hue Bridge Pro, all Hue devices in HomeKit show “No Response” when a Home Hub (Apple TV or HomePod) is online. When all Home Hubs are offline, there is no problem. This does not occur with any other Matter devices.
Noting here in case more people experience the same.
