Soon the Philips Hue wall switch module will be available in stores. Although “in stores” is perhaps not quite the right expression, because as already announced, the new accessory will initially be sold exclusively directly at Philips Hue. In Germany and also in other European countries, the wall switch module will only be sold by other retailers in about three months, starting in calendar week 19.
In October, I already drew your attention to the Philips Hue outdoor power supply exchange programme. And now that some of you are getting your garden ready for spring, it's time to remind you of the story again. It's about the 40 Watt Outdoor Power Supply from Philips Hue. This was sold with the starter sets of the Hue Lily or Hue Calla, and the power supply of the Outdoor Lightstrips can also be affected.
It shouldn't be too much time until the Philips Hue Wall Switch Module is available in stores. Unfortunately, Signify has not yet communicated an exact launch date for the product, which was introduced in January, but officially it should be ready in spring (in Europe). However, thanks to a reader's email from the Netherlands, I can already show you how exactly the new module is configured in the Hue app.
Last year, the time had come: The first Philips Hue switch ever, the Hue Tap, was discontinued. Although it is still available for purchase, the switches that are currently still available are remnants. However, the name Hue Tap will probably not disappear completely from the market. A new entry has appeared in the online store of an authorized Philips dealer from the USA.
So far, Philips Hue has been rather reticent about the exact details of the launch of the Hue Wall Switch Module. We do know that there will be a single module for 39.99 euros and a double pack for 69.99 euros, and that sales will initially be exclusive to the Philips Hue online store.
It has been almost two weeks since I first reported on two more products that might appear: The T-part for the Philips Hue low-voltage system, which was previously only available as a bundle with the 2.5-metre extension cable, will soon also be available separately. The same applies to the cable itself.
Compared to cheaper competitors, Philips Hue lamps often offer slightly better technology. This is demonstrated from time to time in colour rendering, but also in dimming. Especially in the range of less than 25 percent, most Philips Hue lamps can still be controlled very precisely and dimmed to a very low level.

We still have to wait about a month until the Philips Hue Wall Switch Module finally hits the market. With the small accessory, you will be able to turn classic light switches into Hue light switches in order to be able to switch Philips Hue light bulbs supplied with permanent power.
