About a month ago I was able to report that Philips Hue is planning a member management for its Hue app. In future, a distinction is to be made between members and admins. Now the function has officially arrived in the Hue app. At least that’s what the manufacturer writes in the Discover section of the app: Manage access to your lights: Want to share access to your lights with other people?
In September 2020, Philips Hue introduced its smallest light bulb to date: Philips Hue White P45 E14 bulb in a teardrop shape, also known internationally as a ” Luster”. Equipped with an E14 base, it was significantly more compact than the familiar E14 candle lamp: 77 millimetres compared to 106 millimetres.
Already in the summer of last year, Philips Hue introduced another model under the name “Hue Go”. A portable table lamp was supposed to appear in late summer 2022. Unfortunately, nothing came of it, at least in Europe. Today there is good news: The portable table lamp Philips Hue Go Portable is now available in Germany and other European countries.
Here on the Hueblog, not only proven experts are reading, but also people who are just taking their first steps with Philips Hue. For this reason, too, I would like to address a concern today that Hueblog reader Rolf has shared with our community. For days I have been trying to create a new scene in Hue.
Earlier this year, Philips Hue didn’t make any huge announcements apart from the Hue Sync TV app. A new outdoor wall lamp, the launch date for the Hue Go table lamp in Europe and an alternative version of the Hue Tap Dial switch. So far, the switch comes with an 8 x 8 centimetre magnetic wall mount that also fits beautifully on an empty switch box.
If you are thinking about buying a Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box, you might want to be patient. There are very strong indications that Philips Hue is planning to introduce a new model. Two product images have appeared on the web that show a new Sync Box. On the first picture you can see a new packaging with the inscription “HDMI Sync Box 8K”.
At the beginning of September, Philips Hue introduced its new Lightguide series. Large glass lamps with a light tube inside. Three models were originally supposed to be launched in autumn: Ellipse, Globe and Triangular. The launch was then postponed, later in December the first of three planned models appeared with the Hue Lightguide Ellipse.
The Philips Hue Nyro came onto the market at the beginning of 2020, as a base and wall lamp, both models I have already presented to you in an article. After I had to realise a few weeks ago that it is extremely difficult to cut laminate on a dark roof terrace, I installed the Hue Nyro there again.
In my article “Philips Hue is working on member management” I already announced this feature, now Philips Hue seems to be pretty close to launch. After logging in with the web browser to account.meethue.com, you will already find a section called “My Homes” in the “My Philips Hue System” section, which shows the number of Hue Bridge and the number of members.
I already had to announce it, but now the time has come: Philips Hue has increased the prices of almost all outdoor products and numerous ceiling lights. It will probably take a few more weeks until the changes reach the market. However, the new prices are already active in the official Philips Hue online shop.
