This week Philips Hue will present its new surveillance system called “Hue Secure”. In the past few weeks, a lot of information has already leaked out. I would like to provide you with the most important details shortly before the official presentation and also give you some assessments. Four cameras – but one will come later At the launch, Philips Hue will introduce four cameras.
When the first filament light bulbs from Philips Hue appeared a few years ago, we initially had to make do with a simple warm white. In the meantime, the “light bulbs” in the classic design are also available as White Ambiance, but we still have to do without colours with Philips Hue.
Now that TV manufacturer TP Vision has completely abolished the Ambilight+Hue function in the latest TV generation and the “smart” app is still only available for Samsung TVs, the Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box is currently the best way to have up to ten Hue lamps light up to match the content on the TV.
In June, Philips Hue introduced two new variants of the Surimu LED panel. After there were previously only two large ceiling lights, the Hue Surimu is now also available as a square variant with an edge length of 30 centimetres for 229.99 euros and as a round variant with a diameter of 39.5 centimetres for 239.99 euros.
Last year, Philips Hue launched its first Festavia string lights at the last minute, with sales at the time limited to the company’s own online shop. This year, they have a little more time for preparations – and it will be exciting in more ways than one. We already clarified a few weeks ago that there will be three versions.
Our small community has been discussing the Philips Hue Go portable table lamp this week. The model, which was officially launched in spring, seems to be causing problems for some users. Specifically, it’s about this: Unfortunately, I have to report that the battery of my Hue Go portable table lamp is defective after only two months.
Even before the new releases for autumn are announced at the end of the month, Philips Hue has fulfilled the promises from the summer. Back in June, they had announced that motion sensors would retain more options. This update is now apparently being rolled out. Several people have already been able to confirm to me that the new functions are unlocked for them.

Just yesterday I was able to tell you that Philips Hue will launch its own smart home camera. This was leaked by Eric Rondolat, the CEO of the manufacturer Signify, during the announcement of the quarterly figures. However, as I know by now, Philips Hue’s new security system will not consist of just one camera.
Philips Hue usually introduces new products around the International Consumer Electronics Fair in Berlin. Signify CEO Eric Rondolat has now revealed what we can expect this year during a conference call. One thing is already certain: Philips Hue will get a home monitoring system, similar to what Signify’s second brand Wiz already got a few months ago.
