Watch out: The new bathroom ceiling lights are significantly brighter

A brief overview

If you are planning to buy a Philips Hue ceiling light for the bathroom in the coming weeks or months, I can only give you one piece of advice: Go for the new lamps. You’ll pay a few euros more, but you’ll also get a lot more light. Today I would like to give you a small overview.

For a better comparison between the two “older” models Struana and Adore and the two new ceiling lamps Devere and Xamento, I list the following three values: Price, lumens at 2,700 Kelvin (standard white) and lumens at 4,000 Kelvin (maximum brightness). Directly to this, there is also the diameter as well as the maximum wattage and a matching product picture.

Philips Hue Struana White Ambiance

  • 169,99 Euro
  • 36 centimetres
  • 2,550 lumens
  • 22 Watt

Philips Hue Adore White Ambiance

  • 199,99 Euro
  • 40.7 centimetres
  • 2,400 lumens
  • 27 Watt

Philips Hue Devere M White Ambiance

  • 169,99 Euro
  • 38.1 centimetres
  • 1,900 / 2,450 lumens
  • 19,2 Watt

Philips Hue Devere L White Ambiance

  • 229,99 Euro
  • 42.5 centimetres
  • 3,300 / 4,300 lumens
  • 33,5 Watt

Philips Hue Xamento M White and Color Ambiance

  • 199,99 Euro
  • 38.1 centimetres
  • 2,100 / 2,350 lumens
  • 33,5 Watt

Philips Hue Xamento L White and Color Ambiance

  • 259,99 Euro
  • 42.5 centimetres
  • 3,450 / 3,700 lumens
  • 52,5 Watt

Unfortunately, there are no current data sheets for the old models Struana and Adore with detailed information on brightness. I assume that these values refer to 4,000 Kelvin, which was the standard for Philips Hue until the previous autumn.

So one thing is clear: the new Xamento and Devere models are significantly brighter, especially the two larger ceiling lights. And since you can still dim down, they are also my current recommendations.
