Yesterday, Philips Hue launched two new products: the all-new Wallwasher and a revamped Smart Button. But there’s another name on the list of new products: Hue Aurelle. The Philips Hue ceiling light has been around for a few years now, but it’s still super popular thanks to its handy White Ambiance technology.
Nothing has changed in the product itself with the update in June 2025. The Aurelle is still available with a white or black frame in four different sizes: 30 x 30 centimeters, 60 x 60 centimeters, 120 x 30 centimeters, or round with a diameter of 39.5 centimeters. The maximum brightness and all other technical data also remain unchanged.
The packaging has been optimized slightly. In addition, the Philips Hue dimmer switch, which was previously included with the Hue Aurelle, has been removed. However, Philips Hue does not intend to increase its margin with this change, as prices have also been reduced.
- Hue Aurelle 30x30cm $169.99 → $139.99
- Hue Aurelle 60x60cm $239.99 → $199.99
- Hue Aurelle 120x30cm $239.99 → $199.99
- Hue Aurelle 39.5cm $179.99 → $149.99
- only available in Europe at the moment
As you can easily see, the Hue Aurelle is now €30 to €40 cheaper – even though the Hue dimmer switch costs “only” €21.99. This price reduction is particularly advantageous if you don’t need the dimmer switch at all.
The future also looks exciting. Until now, Philips Hue has equipped all ceiling lights with White Ambiance technology with a dimmer switch. Could those days now be over? With Enrave, Fair, Being, and a few other older products, Philips Hue still has a number of ceiling lights of this type in its portfolio. In contrast, the Hue Tento, launched last fall, did not feature a dimmer switch.
