The Philips Hue track system was launched almost three years ago and is now also available in other countries such as the USA. However, Philips Hue Perifo is definitely not cheap. This makes it all the more important to clarify any questions before you buy. A fairly basic question has arisen in our small Hueblog community today that I would like to answer.
Can I switch the lamps attached to a Philips Hue Perifo system track separately?
With a classic track system on the ceiling, which does not require a smart control system, it’s quite simple: all the lamps are switched on and off using the wall switch. As is usual with Philips Hue, the wall switch that is switched on should no longer be indicated if possible.
If all Philips Hue Perifo lamps are supplied with power, they behave like any other Hue lamp in the Philips Hue app. They can therefore be controlled separately without any problems. Colors, brightness and co. can be easily adjusted. It is best to save your favorite scenes in the relevant room so that you can quickly access the desired light settings.
To ensure that the power supply to the Perifo system is not accidentally interrupted, I recommend the Philips Hue wall switch module as a supplement to the light switch on the wall. With a little skill, this can be installed quickly and ensures that you can activate your favorite scenes directly via the classic switch and the Perifo system always remains accessible for the app and other smart home systems.
