At the beginning of September, Philips Hue not only presented several new products at the Internationale Funkausstellung in Berlin, but also numerous new software features. For example, the multi-bridge support was explained in detail and an impressive augmented reality function was shown.
Unfortunately, I didn’t actually think to enquire about the possible backup function, which I reported on earlier this year. This feature has not yet been officially described by Philips Hue.
The fact is: at the end of 2023, Philips Hue investigated the possibility of a backup function and also conducted a survey in the beta community. Since then, this feature has been very quiet.
Backup function for Philips Hue supposedly fully developed
Hueblog reader Ronald from the Netherlands has now simply asked Hue support and received the following statement about the backup function: “They told me that the developers finished the backup function. It now is in ‘review’ and it will become available soon.”
As a precaution, it should be mentioned at this point that Hue support is not necessarily the most reliable source. I have no further information on the current status, so it remains exciting. As soon as I hear anything else, I’ll be sure to share it with you.

Fabian: It looks like you recently enabled a “notifications of new posts” through Chrome browser. Thank you – it worked like a charm! 🙏
I bought your LED SmartBulbs 4 years ago and they work great still.
Finally a real new feature instead of new scenes and effects…
Seriously this has been a big omission from the hue hub since it’s launch. Better late than never as they say
I purchased the app and sequences ,but very much disappointed with the hue lights app.
1 No activation by Alexa
2. User defined sequences operation manual.
3.No integration with home theatre apps
