While we continue to wait for the big updates, including multi-bridge support and new 24-hour scenes, Philips Hue is working on some improvements under the hood. The recently released version 5.30 brings some bug fixes and stability improvements. However, I did notice one small new feature, at least on the iPhone.

This afternoon, Philips Hue released another update for its app, version 5.29 is now available to download from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Unfortunately, this is still without the previously announced multi-bridge support that so many of us are waiting for. There are still two months to go, as the function is still due to arrive in 2024 – at least that’s what the manufacturer announced at the beginning of September.

This week, Philips Hue has released another software update for the Hue Bridge. Version 1967054020 has been rolling out since October 22nd and, as always, will be distributed over several days. It is therefore quite possible that your Bridge will only be ready in the next few days. The minor update, previously version 1967054010 was in use, only fixes a bug relating to the smart Friends of Hue switches.

After an update for almost all Hue lights was released last week – I have already summarised the new features of software version 1.122.2 for you – it is now the turn of the Hue Bridge again. I immediately realized that this could only be the firmware update that some of you have already received. Philips Hue has been offering another firmware update for its Bridge since last week. With software version 1966117030, the long-lost “Do not disturb my scene” function, which was previously part of the now discontinued Hue Labs, is also set to return. After the announcement at the beginning of September, we are waiting for some exciting features, but unfortunately I have to disappoint you here.
