Late yesterday afternoon, Philips Hue released another update for its app. Version 5.32 is now available to download from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The update includes numerous new features, only one of which is not really new. In the update description, Philips Hue once again announces multi-bridge support – but this has been available since version 5.31. But what has really changed?
For example, the new all-day scenes, which I had already announced, have been added. When adding a new scene, you can now also configure your very own 24-hour scene without having to edit one of the existing scenes. This saves you some unnecessary steps, as otherwise all the scenes that are not actually needed will be saved in the respective room.
“We just added two new All-day scenes that automatically cycle from one scene to another throughout a 24-hour period”, writes Philips in the update description. “They even have a shiny new category in the scene gallery, and you can use any scenes you like. Perfect for a Festavia-clad Christmas tree!”
Also officially returning are finally the ten Christmas-themed scenes in the Hue light scene gallery, which now appear right at the top of the list to match the season. Philips Hue even says that the scenes have been revised. I’m not quite sure what exactly has changed, maybe some effects have been integrated. If you recognize a difference here, please write a note in the comments below this article.
Camera streams now with Alexa, Google and SmartThings
As promised back in September, the Hue Secure cameras will now also be able to display their live stream on Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Samsung SmartThings, for example on an Echo Show. This new function is still officially declared as beta by Philips Hue.
I have looked around in the app, but have not yet been able to discover the new option directly. Unfortunately, I’m traveling today and tomorrow and don’t have direct access to the system where I have a Hue Secure camera in use. If you are already one step further, I would also be happy to receive a comment.

You can enable the camera support under the smart home settings where you first setup Google home
They added some of the new effects to the holiday scenes.
I updated the app, but still only see one All-day scene in the category – Natural light.
Apparently, the colors spread / style configuration (linear gradient, mirrored gradient, or scattered) isn’t available directly in a light color picker anymore.
Instead, that setting is now part of each scene, making it possible to tune the style for each scene.
