Since this week, several Bridges can be “connected” to each other in the Philips Hue app – multi-bridge support is finally here. Although lamps and accessories cannot yet communicate with each other across bridges, at least you don’t have to switch between the different bridges every time you want to control the lamps.
If you’re from the USA, then I have good news for you. There’s a rare offer in the official online shop. You can currently buy the Philips Hue Festavia string lights with a 30 per cent discount. A perfect offer for the upcoming Christmas season, although the string lights can of course be used all year round.
A few years ago, there wasn’t much choice when it came to smart Christmas lights, but this year, things look very different. Nowadays, you have a wide selection from several well-known manufacturers. Philips Hue is, of course, part of the mix, offering various versions of the Festavia string lights this year.
If you are one of those people who use a lot of Hue devices and therefore rely on two or more Hue Bridges, then I have very good news for you today. It is now possible to link multiple Bridges together in the Philips Hue app. This means that lights throughout the house can be controlled directly in the Hue app, even if they are linked to different Bridges.

While we continue to wait for the big updates, including multi-bridge support and new 24-hour scenes, Philips Hue is working on some improvements under the hood. The recently released version 5.30 brings some bug fixes and stability improvements. However, I did notice one small new feature, at least on the iPhone.

I have quite a few Philips Hue products in my home, I think around 80 lights and at least 25 accessories. I’ve split the entire installation between two bridges and the whole thing has always been very stable over the past six years. Until a few days ago. In December 2022, Philips Hue launched its first automatically running scene: Natural Light. This scene uses different shades of warm to cool white light that are automatically adjusted throughout the day. “Start with bright, cool shades to energize you in the morning and end the day with a warmer, golden hue to help you relax in the evening,” Philips Hue writes about the Natural Light scene.
