June update prepares Hue Bridge for new products

Minor adjustments under the hood

Not a single month has passed this year without an update for the Philips Hue Bridge. Although it is already a good 10 years old, the control center is not yet ready for the scrap heap. Philips Hue is currently distributing software version 1972004020 with minor adjustments and improvements.

The update primarily serves to adapt the Hue Bridge to the new devices. “Added support for recently launched products like the Hue Play wall washer, the new smart button, and the white versions of the Xamento and Adore recessed spots”, according to the release notes for the update.

Philips Hue has also made a few other minor improvements under the hood to make the Hue Bridge run even more smoothly. However, they are not revealing exactly what has been done.

The update has been available since June 19 and, as always, is being rolled out gradually to all connected devices. Just check to see if you’re already running the new version 1972004020. Otherwise, just be patient a little longer.
