At the weekend, I wanted to find out for you how much electricity the new Philips Hue Festavia string light consumes. The result really surprised me, especially with regard to other Hue light sources. But first things first. With Philips Hue lights, it has always been the case that colours have consumed significantly less energy than, for example, bright and cool white tones.
Today I would like to deal with a small problem that I had not yet thought of. However, there are always letters on the subject, so a little advice can't hurt. The problem is that newly created scenes do not appear in the switch configuration. Philips Hue has actually built in a little trap here.
Since the announcement of the new Philips Hue string light Festavia on Thursday, more and more details have come to light. Among other things, I have already compared the new release with the well-known Twinkly string light. One point that bothered me a lot: Philips Hue Festavia (Online-Shop) is only suitable for indoor use.

Today Philips Hue introduced its first chain of lights, the Festavia. And the manufacturer from Eindhoven assures that they are ready for the Christmas season: from Friday, 11 November 2022, the Philips Hue Festavia should be available for order in the official online shop. Delivery should then take place the following week.

Today the day has come when I can present the corresponding product to you: The Philips Hue Festavia. First of all, let's get to the most important facts: The Philips Hue string lights will initially be available exclusively in the Philips Hue online shop from 11 November.
Yesterday evening, Philips Hue released another update for its app. Version 4.29 is now available in the App Store. Attentive readers will notice that version 4.28 has been omitted. According to my information, there were major problems with this version, so it was not even considered for release. In the end, however, it doesn't make any difference, because this version probably wouldn't have offered any major innovations anyway – and now we'll continue with the next update.
Before I take a look at version 4.29 of the Philips Hue app, I would like to revisit the topic of Matter. On Friday, I already reported that you can already activate the Matter beta on your bridge via the Hue developer website – mind you, this is a version that is not yet intended for the end consumer.
At the beginning of September, the Philips Hue White Ambiance Filament E14 candle lamp was officially introduced. It was immediately clear to me that this small lamp would fit perfectly in my house. In the staircase there is currently a chandelier with two classic E14 candle lamps. Of course, these could have been replaced with filament lamps before, but until now the E14 candle lamp was only available as Hue White Filament.
I'm sitting in my hotel room in Amsterdam right now. Yesterday I attended the launch event of the new smart home standard Matter and gathered numerous impressions about the new technology. One thing is clear: Philips Hue, which can already be connected to all the most important smart home systems, will not benefit as much from Matter as, for example, Eve Systems with its accessories that have so far only been geared towards Apple and HomeKit.
