FabianLast September, Philips Hue introduced a total of seven new light strips. These are also available in different lengths, giving us a total of 21 different variants. It’s easy to lose track of them all.
Especially since not all of the new Philips Hue light strips are available yet. Here in Europe, for example, the Hue Essential series is still missing, which is expected to be released together with the Flux accessories in the eighth calendar week – at least according to my latest information.
Outside Europe, it will take even longer in some cases; in the USA, the Philips Hue Flux light strips will not be available until March. Nevertheless, readers from overseas are welcome to take a look at my new video, as YouTube offers English dubbing.
These old Philips Hue light strips have had their day
However, there are not only new light strips, but also some old models. The Hue Lightstrip Plus and the Hue Solo Lightstrip, both of which are based on the same LED strip, can only display one colour at a time and are now only available while stocks last. The same applies to the Hue Ambiance Gradient Lightstrip, which was significantly more expensive than the new Flux series. And the previous Outdoor Lightstrip without gradient function also has no future.
Meanwhile, there was no successor for the Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip, which Philips Hue offers in suitable lengths specifically for PC monitors or televisions. This is still the only light strip that can be installed across three sides of a screen. At this point in time, I have no information about a future new model.

I’m really happy with the new line-up!I have two boxes with Hue Flux ready, but have to wait for the corner pieces, to put them under the bed.
I was wondering how easy is it to make a 90 degree bent with the essential flex or the Omniglow. i want to use it in the stairwell but it will have a hard 90 degrees turn.
