FabianAnother new year. I’m kicking off 2026 at full throttle, and over the next 12 months there will once again be fresh news about Philips Hue (almost) every day. In this article, I want to take a look back as well as a look ahead. What will happen on the Hueblog in 2026?
The most important Hueblog figures from 2025
Last year, exactly 222 articles were published on Hueblog.com (plus 344 news items on Hueblog.de). And during this time, you wrote an incredible 1,004 comments – thank you very much for participating in the blog.
Over the past twelve months, the English-language Hueblog has recorded 1.2 million visitors, who generated 1.6 million page views. Unsurprisingly, the month with the most views was September, when Philips Hue unveiled the Hue Bridge Pro and many other new products.

My most stressful moment of the past year
That was definitely August 14, 2025. I was on a family vacation at the North Sea and my son woke up quite early in the morning. When I glanced at my phone, I saw an iMessage from a contact: All the new Hue products had appeared on the Philips Hue website. Believe me, I’ve rarely been so wide awake and sat down at my MacBook to write an article for you.
Almost 100,000 views for the event video from Berlin
On September 3, Philips Hue presented the new products at a media event in Berlin, and one day later, it was officially announced. With the help of a video editor and a night-and-fog operation, a YouTube video of the event was posted online the next morning, right on time. To date, it has received almost 100,000 views and is the most successful video on our appgefahren channel, which you are welcome to follow. You can watch our videos there with a really decent English audio track.
These are the projects I will tackle in 2026
This year, in addition to news, test reports, and hopefully many new releases, there will be two additional projects. For example, there have been repeated requests for a newsletter. This is something I can tackle myself and hopefully provide you with shortly.
I am dependent on outside help for the development of the Hueblog app. We will be making some optimizations and fixing bugs in February and March. I would also like to make the app available in English, which is of course particularly exciting for readers of Hueblog.com.
