Hueblog: Hue Bridge Pro and other new products appear on the Hue website

Hue Bridge Pro and other new products appear on the Hue website

Manufacturer reveals new products

A few days ago, I was still gathering rumors, but now Philips Hue has revealed numerous new products itself—on its own website. The highlight is undoubtedly the new Hue Bridge Pro, which offers numerous improvements—and a design with two small LEDs.

“Our most advanced smart home hub is faster, has more capacity, and unlocks more features than ever before,” writes Philips Hue about the new Hue Bridge Pro. A special treat that has already appeared in my rumor overview: “Plus, turn your smart lights into motion sensors with built-in MotionAware technology.”

The question of how many lamps can be connected to the Hue Bridge Pro remains open. Philips Hue has not yet released any details on this.

The next generation of the Hue smart hub. Powered by a chip that’s capable of running complex algorithms and AI-powered features, it’s faster and stronger than ever. Turn your lights into motion sensors with MotionAware, use your security and lights together, and more.

In addition to the Hue Bridge, the Hue website also featured the new Wired Video Doorbell, which had already appeared as a graphic in the Philips Hue app. The most important information we learn here is that the camera has a 2k resolution. This usually corresponds to a resolution of 1440p, while the previous Hue Secure cameras only offer 1080p.

Two new Festavia string lights

Is Philips Hue now copying Govee and numerous other manufacturers? The Festavia family is being expanded with two new models: a permanently installed string of lights and a string of lights in garland form. Both can display different colors and are likely to be available in different lengths.

Personally, I find the Festavia Globe String Lights particularly exciting. Philips Hue has already told us: “Each of Festavia’s lightguide bulbs features a distinctive inner tube that perfectly balances color and brightness. Customize them with a gradient of multiple colors, light scenes, or special effects.”

These are the new light strips for indoors and outdoors

Next up are the new light strips that Philips Hue will be launching soon. For several years now, there have also been new light strips for outdoor use, which for the first time are equipped with a gradient function. Here, too, the manufacturer has already provided a description of the new features.

“Experience consistent, precise color matching with advanced ChromaSync™ technology, and ultra-bright, true white light — ideal for wall-washing to create ambiance or get functional lighting”, writes Philips Hue. “Enjoy flawless uniform lines of light with OmniGlow, a superior strip light that’s made to be a visible feature in any room.”

New light bulb with significantly lower energy consumption

The classic E27 light bulb from Philips Hue, which is also equipped with ChromaSync technology, is also getting an upgrade. This is intended to ensure precise and consistent color matching. Also very exciting: the new light bulb is said to require 40 percent less energy and enable ultra-deep dimming down to 0.2 percent.

Philips Hue has since taken the page offline again, but I saved a copy as PDF for you. Nevertheless, you already know what’s coming this year. Only the exact technical details and prices are still missing.

  1. “First real image of the Hue Secure doorbell” … that’s not a real photo, come on! Look hat the logo, it’s all AI.

  2. Yeah all it’s all nice but how much is it gonna cost me? 50 bucks for your bulbs when Govee is only 20 is really too much!

    1. Govee is trash. You can’t compare the two directly. One actually syncs up with what you’re watching, while the other has lag and needs a camera. You can pair some govee lights with your hue system. You don’t just have to buy Phillips hue brand lights. Any lights that have the technology in them like (matter), will pair and work.

  3. Sounds very nice withe the lower power usage and ultra-deep dimming 😀

But what about the light quality (cri/ra), Philips Hue has always been quite bad in this respect!😔
