A few days ago I was able to give you the first information, now it is official. Senic, a small Berlin start-up, is now also offering a Friends of Hue counter for outdoor use. It is the first of its kind.
The “Friends of Hue Outdoor Switch” has the same technology as the already known Friends of Hue switches. Inside is the familiar EnOcean module with four buttons, which can be configured quite easily via the Hue app. A completely new development, on the other hand, is the outer shell of the switch.
Senic leaves us the following information about his new development:
The Friends of Hue switch for outdoor use is designed to withstand normal outdoor use, sunlight and rain splashes and complies with protection class IP44. The switch can be freely placed on any flat surface, a table or vertically on outdoor walls using adhesive dots (included in the packaging) or screws.
The switch can be pre-ordered now and will be ready to ship in approximately two weeks. There is also a small discount for the short waiting period, instead of 79 Euros the “Friends of Hue Outdoor Switch” currently costs only 69 Euros – this introductory price is however limited to a few days, so if you are interested, you should strike soon.
I expect my test sample within the next few days and hopefully I will be able to present you the first own impressions around the switch already in the coming week.
