The Philips Hue Aurelle has been with us for several years now. The panel light has always been available in four different shapes, and now you also have the choice between two different colours. After the Hue Aurelle was previously only available with a white frame, there is now also a black version to choose from.
Last November, Philips Hue surprised us at the last minute with the Festavia string lights. Just before Christmas, the small colourful LEDs for the Christmas tree went on sale – and were completely sold out within a few days. This status has not changed so far. However, there is a surprising announcement from Switzerland: There, the Festavia is currently available again in the official online shop of Philips Hue and is even sold with a discount of 10 percent for the first time.
There was a rather interesting question in the Hueblog community over the weekend about mounting Hue lights on the wall. An exciting topic that I would also like to take up again on the blog. And that’s what it’s about: In my flat there is only one connection for lights per room.
With the update to version 4.46 released today, the Philips Hue app is to receive a new function that will make the interactive “Natural Light” scene a little better. The blog Toengel, which specialises in Philips TVs, published an interesting report yesterday: the new Philips TVs with the model year 2023 will only offer “normal” Ambilight integration across the board, while the popular Ambilight+Hue function will be dropped completely. For years I have been using iConnectHue (App Store-Link) to configure my Hue system. From my point of view, the universal app for iPhone and iPad has only one major shortcoming: it doesn’t really look that great. As far as the positioning of the Hue Bridge is concerned, you are unfortunately relatively limited. After all, it cannot be placed everywhere in the house, at least a cable connection to the home network must exist. In most cases, the Hue Bridge should be placed near the router. At night, you can expect a light show, as Hueblog reader Nina has also realised.
