Just last week I was able to announce that Philips Hue is already offering a modified version of its E14 teardrop bulb in Japan, which was launched as Hue White only earlier this month. Equipped with a comparable E17 base, the Japanese are already enjoying the benefits of a technically much better White Ambiance teardrop bulb, where the colour temperature can be freely adjusted from 2,200 to 6,500 Kelvin.
A few weeks ago, Senic launched the first Friends of Hue Outdoor Switch on the market. At the start it was sold for 69 Euros, but now it is at the regular price of 79 Euros. But you can still save money – if you need indoor switches as well. Senic has been selling the normal Friends of Hue indoor switch in a bundle of 3 for 189 Euros for some time.
Just two months ago, Philips Hue unveiled its smallest lamp to date: The Hue E14 Luster. The teardrop-shaped bulb is perfect for compact table lamps that are often found on desks or bedside tables. But it is precisely here that the new release reveals its biggest weakness: as a Hue White model, it offers only a fixed colour temperature.

These are just three of the many voice commands that can be used to control your Philips Hue lamps with Amazon's voice assistant Alexa. Although there are still some workarounds if you want to control several Hue Bridges with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, it is often not really fun. Now my YouTube colleague Justin_Tech learned some interesting details in a video interview with Hue inventor George Yianni, which I would like to share with you.
For some time now, Innr has had a set of recessed spot lights in its portfolio. Equipped with an LED driver and a ZigBee controller, up to five extra flat recessed spotlights could be installed, which were equipped with a white LED. The RSL 110 model is now retiring, it is replaced by the Innr RSL 115.

Here in the blog I love to talk about Philips Hue, of course, but there are some lighting ideas that are difficult to realize with ZigBee.
