It’s truly remarkable how much effort Philips Hue is putting into developing the new Hue Bridge Pro. Since its launch in September, there has been at least one software update every month. June, which has just begun, is no exception, as Philips Hue is already rolling out a new software version today. And there’s also an update for the standard Hue Bridge.

“We’ve made several small changes behind the scenes to make your Hue Bridge Pro work even better”, says the note about the new firmware 2071353020. And Philips Hue writes almost identically about software version 1977138000 for the Hue Bridge: “We’ve made several small changes behind the scenes to make your Hue Bridge v2 work even better. ”

Philips Hue does not provide specific details about the current software updates

So exactly what has changed remains unclear. There have certainly been bug fixes and stability improvements. Philips Hue may also have prepared the two control hubs for the launch of the new products we can expect this month. These include new lights from the Hue Play series and brand-new wall switch modules with new features.

To install the new software on your Hue Bridge or Hue Bridge Pro, you basically don’t need to do anything. Ideally, you should enable automatic updates in the “Software Update” section of the Hue app’s settings. Then the new software version should be installed on your Hue Bridge in the background over the next few days.
