Hue Weekly: Where to put all those light strips?

With all the new light strips from Philips Hue, I currently have no idea where to put them. Be glad you don’t run a blog about Philips Hue, or you’d have to deal with problems like this too. Where, for example, should you install a 10-meter-long Hue OmniGlow Lightstrip? That’s exactly what I ordered this week. Maybe vertically across the entire stairwell? Or across the entire ground floor, parallel to the wall along the ceiling? I’m really still undecided.

On Saturday, I bought a few materials at the hardware store to install the Hue Flux Lightstrip behind an Ikea Kallax shelf. And as I write these lines, it occurs to me: What’s better than one light strip behind a shelf? Two light strips behind a shelf, of course. It’s going to be a cool project, which I will definitely document for you.

Feel free to write in the comments what you’ve done with the new Philips Hue light strips you’ve bought in recent weeks. Or are you still in the planning phase? I look forward to your comments!

And we haven’t even reached the end of the line yet. In addition to the two new outdoor light strips, the two Flux variants, and the OmniGlow, the new Hue Essential Lightstrips will follow in December. So one thing is clear: it’s definitely not going to be boring in the Hue universe.

PS: Unfortunately, all new light strips except the Hue OmniGlow will not be available in the US until March 2026. So you’ll have to be patient a little longer.
