Philips Hue really set off a real fireworks last week, and I’m glad that all the new hardware isn’t available all at once, but will be released over several months. Philips Hue isn’t just concerned with new hardware, but also with software.

On Thursday, the Philips Hue app 5.50 was released. In the process, new scenes were also launched, as the Hue light scene gallery now includes a “Wanderlust” category. It contains the following five scenes:

New scenes in the Hue App

  • Rome
  • Santorini
  • Coastal nights
  • Island warmth
  • Ocean escape

Some of the scenes use cool white tones, which are probably intended to imitate sunlight. I could imagine that these new scenes are primarily designed for the new light bulbs, which cover an even wider white spectrum. The new light bulbs are on my to-do list after the Hue Bridge Pro and the Hue Festavia Globe.
