Philips Hue will be launching several new products later this month. But as we all know, the year is still long, and Philips Hue’s biggest launch usually takes place in early September around the time of IFA in Berlin. Possibly including two new products that a Hueblog reader has now discovered in his Hue app.
“I was just editing my light icons in the app and discovered a few products I don’t recognize,” reads the reader’s message. “Do you have any idea if this is a hint at products that haven’t been announced yet? I’d really love to have a few Hue Panels!”
But what exactly is this about? When you edit a light, you can not only change its name but also select an icon. And among the long list, the reader sees these two icons, among others:
Hue Go XXL was already an April Fools’ joke
The Hue Go XXL doesn’t seem all that unfamiliar to us. In 2025, Philips Hue presented a similar product as an April Fools’ joke—a giant Hue Go serving as a lounge table on the patio (see title image). Are they actually working on bringing this monster to life?
And then there are the panels. The icon shows three hexagons that strongly remind me of the Nanoleaf Hexagons. Is Philips Hue perhaps also planning such a modular LED system?

What might be particularly interesting in this regard: Just a few days ago, it was announced that Nanoleaf was sold for $40 million to OneRobotics, the company behind SwitchBot. So there seems to be quite a bit of movement in this whole area, especially since Nanoleaf wanted to focus primarily on robotics and AI in the future—two areas in which SwitchBot is also heavily involved.
Unfortunately, I can’t tell you exactly what the Hue Go XXL and the panels are all about. I can’t even find the two icons in my app yet. Let’s just see what the rest of the year brings…
