If someone had told me a year ago that Philips Hue and Nanoleaf would be teaming up, I probably would have thought they were crazy. Since the beginning of the month, the Philips Hue Wall Light Control Module—or, in short, the “Hue x Nanoleaf Controller”—has been available, allowing Nanoleaf Shapes to be integrated into the Hue app.
While I’m somehow trying to make it to Berlin today—Deutsche Bahn is making things extremely exciting again today—Nanoleaf has now officially confirmed what we’ve known for a few days. On its website, the company is showcasing the “Nanoleaf x Hue Controller,” which integrates Nanoleaf Shapes into the Hue app. “A simple yet powerful addition opens up a whole new ‘Shapes’ experience for you.
Once again, Philips Hue’s attempt at secrecy didn’t really work out. After the Philips Hue Wall Light Module for Nanoleaf Shapes appeared at Home Depot in Canada earlier this week, Philips Hue has now posted a complete support page on its own website dedicated to Nanoleaf integration. And there we find some exciting information.
About a week before the next product launch, more details are leaking online. A hexagon icon was spotted in the Philips Hue app a few weeks ago, and now there are more details: A Philips Hue Wall Light Module is set to launch, allowing users to connect Nanoleaf’s well-known LED modules to the Hue app.
