In September 2022, Philips Hue presented the Lightguide series. Three stylish E27 glass light bulbs with an internal light tube were to be launched on the market at the time. However, sales were stopped a short time later and the Ellipse model was only launched a few months later. The Lightguide Globe and Triangular versions were postponed indefinitely.
Now something seems to be happening. Five Philips Hue Lightguide models are suddenly listed in the online shop of an Italian retailer. In addition to the regularly available Philips Hue Lightguide Ellipse, there are also four other light bulbs. Unfortunately, their product pages are not yet filled with information.
However, I was able to find out a few details. For example, two model numbers match those of the Lightguide Globe and Lightguide Triangular from 2022. Interestingly, the price is identical to that of the Ellipse; the Globe and Triangular should cost 15 euros less in 2022.
Are the small Philips Hue Lightguide lamps coming?
The two other Lightguide products are listed with a price of 78.90 euros and have related product numbers that have not yet appeared. I assume that these are the smaller Lightguide models Globe G95 and Edison ST70, which already appeared in approval documents some time ago.
It can be assumed that Philips Hue has got the production problems of the Lightguide series under control and is preparing for the (renewed) market launch. Dealers are usually supplied with initial data very early. We will probably have to wait a little longer for official information, as Philips Hue usually presents its products in June and September.
