The two effects were already officially announced by Philips Hue in a press release in January. When I replaced the Philips Hue Aurelle in my kitchen with the new Philips Hue Surimu a few months ago, there was no difference at first glance. No wonder, because housed in the same casing, the Surimu only offers additional colour LEDs. But something else has improved: Installation has become much easier thanks to a new suspension.

It should be common knowledge by now that Philips Hue does not necessarily offer the cheapest products. This is quite understandable, after all, quality and performance are in many cases better than with cheaper alternatives. Moreover, one has to consider that Philips Hue, in contrast to some other manufacturers, also takes care of software development.
Last week, a reader brought the Dutch manufacturer EcoDim to my attention. Located just over the German border, EcoDim unfortunately does not yet offer its products in Germany, but our friends from Holland were kind enough to provide me with a set of their filament lamps with ZigBee. The lamps with E27 bases all have White Ambiance technology, the colour temperature can be adjusted from 1,800 to 5,000 Kelvin.
