A week's holiday in the Netherlands is over, back in the office a package from Philips Hue is already waiting for me. Included in it: The two new variants of the E14 chandelier bulb, which is now available not only as White, but also as White Ambiance and White and Color Ambiance.
A fortnight ago, the Philips Hue Tap Dial was released with the new mini mount. While nothing has changed on the switch itself, you get to enjoy a new mount. While the previous mounting plate with its dimensions of just under 8 x 8 centimetres (in Europe) fit on common empty flush-mounted boxes, the new alternative is limited to a small mini mount with a diameter of only 4.8 centimetres.
Already in the summer of last year, Philips Hue introduced another model under the name “Hue Go”. A portable table lamp was supposed to appear in late summer 2022. Unfortunately, nothing came of it, at least in Europe. Today there is good news: The portable table lamp Philips Hue Go Portable is now available in Germany and other European countries.
In spring 2020, Philips Hue introduced the outdoor wall light Resonate. It throws a triangular cone of light downwards and upwards onto the wall, but does without two separately controllable LEDs. Now Philips Hue has additionally neutered the Resonate and also offers it as a variant with a light beam directed only downwards.
Some time ago, I introduced you to the large Philips Hue Enrave. The ceiling light with White Ambiance technology does a very good job in the children's room. Today I take a look at the small model of the Hue Enrave with a diameter of only 26.1 centimetres. Not without reason, because the small ceiling light is one of the products that will become more expensive from February.
I have already reported several times about the Philips Hue Perifo track system, which was released in summer 2022. While I have already installed the spots in my kitchen, I have not yet tested the Hue Perifo Linear Lightbar. Today we want to change that. The technical data of the 95-centimetre-long lightbar, which can simply be plugged into a Perifo rail, are impressive.
What an announcement on Wednesday evening: Philips Hue releases the Philips Hue Sync TV App for Samsung Smart TVs. As of now, the alternative to the Sync Box is available for download for models from 2022. Starting with the entry-level Q60 QLED TV, all models above that can also use the Hue Sync TV app.
Yesterday, Philips Hue introduced its first light chain, and as of today, Festavia can be ordered directly from Philips Hue's online store for 159.99 euros. In the smart home market, there is one competitor in particular that specialized in fairy lights years ago: Twinkly. Today, I would like to take a look with you at the advantages and disadvantages of the two products and who might come out on top in the end.
At the beginning of September, the Philips Hue White Ambiance Filament E14 candle lamp was officially introduced. It was immediately clear to me that this small lamp would fit perfectly in my house. In the staircase there is currently a chandelier with two classic E14 candle lamps. Of course, these could have been replaced with filament lamps before, but until now the E14 candle lamp was only available as Hue White Filament.
I have already reported about the new Philips Hue Perifo track system, especially my impressions around the external power supply turned out very positive. For me, the rail, which I currently have equipped with three spots, is a real problem solver in my kitchen. As a test, I have now inserted a Perifo pendant luminaire into the rail.
