The seven-meter version of the Hue Festavia Globe was already released in the US in September, while the longer versions were not actually supposed to be released until December. But now the time has come, just like in Europe: All three lengths of the Philips Hue Festavia Globe can now be ordered from the manufacturer’s online store.
Looking at the European and American versions of the string lights, I noticed a few differences. Here is a brief overview for you:
- 7-meter Festavia Globe: 8 bulbs (US) / 10 bulbs (EU)
- 14-meter Festavia Globe: 16 bulbs (US) / 20 bulbs (EU)
- 21-meter Festavia Globe: 30 bulbs (EU)
- 28-meter Festavia Globe: 32 bulbs (US)
Hue Festavia Globe
from $129.99 / €129.99
The two shorter models provide slightly more light in Europe, with a light guide lamp every 70 centimeters to be precise. In the US, the spacing is slightly larger at 87.5 centimeters. On the other hand, the string lights in the US are significantly longer.
Please don’t ask me why and how this is the case. To be honest, I have no idea why there are such differences in what is essentially an identical product.
But what I can tell you for sure is that the Hue Festavia Globe looks fantastic on my patio. Especially now that it’s getting dark really early outside again. I’ve collected a few visual impressions for you in the following video, which you can also watch with English dubbing.

Fabian in your opinion do these bulbs seem too spaced out? I feel like other companies have lights much closer together, at least in the states. Thank you.
