Voice control and apps are a great thing, but sometimes you want to control your lamps and the many other smart homes directly on the wall. Classic switches offer few options, more options are available with the new Echo Hub.
Echo Hub is an Alexa-enabled smart home control panel with an 8-inch touchscreen and a customisable smart home dashboard. This allows you to easily group and manage smart home devices, activate a ring security system, start a routine, stay organised with widgets or view multiple compatible cameras at once.
Echo Hub uses infrared technology to detect if someone is nearby. This allows the device to seamlessly switch from a screen personalised with favourite photos or a clock to a dashboard for smart home control.
Echo Hub can be wall-mounted or used with an optional stand. The integrated smart home hub supports Zigbee, Thread, Bluetooth and Matter and ensures compatibility with over 140,000 different smart home devices worldwide, such as networked cameras, lights, locks, sockets, thermostats or speakers.
However, patience is still required. Echo Hub will be available later for 199.99 euros, but cannot be pre-ordered at the moment. Amazon has announced that decorative frames in white, light wood or metallic and a stand will also be available.
