Works with Alexa: Nothing more than a new design

Hue White bulbs with new packaging

Before I get back to more exciting topics tomorrow, I would like to share a little side note with you today. On Amazon, the Hue White E27 bulb is now sold with an alternative packaging. Functionally, however, nothing should have changed.

While there are two smaller logos for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant on normal Philips Hue packaging, we see a large “Works with Alexa” logo on this variation. In addition, a large part of the packaging front is kept in the usual Alexa blue.

There should be no functional differences in this new variation. It is a conventional Hue White lamp with 806 lumens and 2,700 Kelvin. Communication takes place via Bluetooth or ZigBee, so a direct connection to many Echo speakers from Amazon is also possible.
