Before I get back to more exciting topics tomorrow, I would like to share a little side note with you today. On Amazon, the Hue White E27 bulb is now sold with an alternative packaging. Functionally, however, nothing should have changed. While there are two smaller logos for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant on normal Philips Hue packaging, we see a large “Works with Alexa” logo on this variation.

With a new version of Philips Hue White, we are now supplied with up to 1,600 lumens of brightness, which is about twice as much as previous E27 lamps from Philips Hue have achieved. The Hue White provides 15.5 watts of LED power, which corresponds to a classic 100-watt light bulb.

The wait is finally over: starting in mid-August, the new generation of Philips Hue GU10 lamps will be available.

We did not expect such a quick release: after Philips introduced new Hue lamps with additional Bluetooth connection last month – which are already available in the USA with an E27 base – there is new information for the European market. According to the information I have received, new lamps with Bluetooth will be delivered on August 15th.
