Hue Festavia: String light can now display more colours simultaneously

New mirrored mode in Hue app

In version 4.31 of the Philips Hue App there is a new mode for the Hue Festavia string light. This allows you to display not only three but five colours as a gradient in gradient mode.

In addition to the normal gradient mode, which is also available for other products such as the Philips Hue Gradient Signe, the Festavia already mastered the new and previously exclusive “Diffuse” mode “out of the box”. In this mode, up to five colours were colourfully mixed and distributed among the 250 LEDs of the string light.

In version 4.31 of the Hue app, you can use the same menu to select not only “Linear” and “Diffuse” but also “Mirrored” as a mode. Here, too, you can select three colours, but the result is completely different.

In principle, the colour gradient can be explained quite simply: Colour A, Colour B, Colour C, Colour B, Colour A. Unfortunately, I currently have the Festavia mounted outdoors (without permission) and therefore cannot take pictures in a completely dark environment, but the result can be seen quite okay:

I assume that this new mode will soon also be made available for the Gradient products such as the Gradient Lightstrips. So far, however, the different modes can only be called up in the colour selection for the Hue Festavia.
