Rest: New default scene for Philips Hue

Preparation for natural light

We have been waiting for the Natural Light feature in the Hue app since 2021. Earlier this year, I was able to tell you that the new feature is coming later. Then in July it was briefly available, but it was a bug and not an intended release of the feature.

My knowledge is that Philips Hue is still busy developing the feature. In principle, it is only a matter of time before the go-ahead is given, especially as all the most important integrations in the app have already been done in principle.

There are now a total of eight standard scenes

A small detail was added on Tuesday with the update of the Hue app to version 4.30: The new default scene Rest, which Philips Hue describes as follows:

Get ready for bed. End the day with low, warm light. It’s the perfect shade and brightness for your bedroom, especially when you’re trying to start snoozing.

The new scene will also be part of the Natural Light function. In total, there are now the following eight standard scenes in the Hue Light Scene Gallery:

  • Bright
  • Dimmed
  • Nightlight
  • Rest
  • Relax
  • Read
  • Concentrate
  • Energise
