Hueblog: This is how expensive the new Hue Bridge Pro will be

This is how expensive the new Hue Bridge Pro will be

Launch on September 4

I’ve been waiting for this new product for years and have repeatedly bombarded Hue inventor George Yianni with questions. The next time I meet him, I’ll definitely have to come up with some new questions, because the Hue Bridge Pro is finally coming to market. With support for 150 lights and 50 accessories, as well as significantly more power.

Today, I can answer another question for you: How much will the Hue Bridge Pro cost? The price of the previous Philips Hue control center was €59.99 outside of starter sets. According to the information I have, the new Hue Bridge Pro will cost €89.99.

Is that a lot or a little? Personally, I would have expected the Hue Bridge Pro to be more expensive, as it offers three times more capacity than the Hue Bridge. In addition, the Hue Bridge Pro will also be available in a bundle with light bulbs and accessories, which will certainly reduce the price a little.

The next generation of the Hue smart hub. Powered by a chip that’s capable of running complex algorithms and AI-powered features, it’s faster and stronger than ever. Turn your lights into motion sensors with MotionAware, use your security and lights together, and more.

When will the Hue Bridge Pro be released?

As we have known for some time, Philips Hue has invited the media to a major event in Berlin on the evening of September 3. The new products will then be shown on the company’s website from September 4; the news page with the new products was already online for a short time.

According to my information, the Hue Bridge Pro will be available for purchase and delivery starting September 4.

The most important features of the Hue Bridge Pro

If you haven’t heard anything about the Hue Bridge Pro yet, I’d like to briefly tell you about its most important features. The new control center can connect 150 lights and 50 accessories, which is significantly more than before. The new Hue Chip Pro is said to provide five times faster response times.

MotionAware will even be a new feature that will initially be available exclusively with the Hue Bridge Pro. MotionAware will turn Hue bulbs into motion sensors. In addition, the Hue Bridge Pro can be connected to your smart home via Wi-Fi, so a cable connection to the router is no longer necessary.

Over the last few years, I've become a real expert when it comes to Hue & HomeKit. I now have over 50 lamps and numerous switches in use. I'm happy to share my experiences with you in my little blog.

  1. Just an idea…. You could ask him (again) about the BACKUP function that we are all, already so many years, desperately waiting for.

    1. I think all newer bulbs (with Bluetooth and Zigbee) should work. But still need to verify that.

  2. Another important feature (if true?) is that lights can still be controlled with local accessories when offline.

    Have you heard this too?

    1. That’s always been true with the old bridge. No need for internet or network as the switches and sensors connect to the bridge by ZigBee.

  3. MotionAware rhymes with privacy nightmare. If I wanted a company (or a hacker) to know who is where, I would install presence sensors. Lights were supposed to be lights, not potential spying tools.

  4. If you can’t transfer TWO or more existing bridges into the Pro without manually adding anything, it’s pointless.

  5. longtime waiting, currently using 3 bridges so investing to transfer them all on day 1 even if it’s a manual one off!

  6. €90 RRP is not as bad as I was expecting!!!
given a bit of online retailer discount I think I’ll be an early adopter

  7. Take my money! Take my money! I want one, the day it’s released. Will replace 3 old bridges 🙂

  8. I fell the numbers are a little low.

    I have 120 lights and 35 accessories

I suppose I could only usefully add 10 more lights. Mostly outdoor… but I am using Govee more and more

  9. Hello, I have a question about the new/upcoming Hue Bridge. I currently use an entertainment area and have reached the 10-light limit. Does anyone know if the new version of the bridge will increase the maximum number of lights we can use in a single entertainment zone?

  10. If Hue Ambilight improves response time, it might be worth switching to. I hope they introduce a new Ambilux TV.

  11. How much will the hue bridge pro in American money? How much will it be in America I am not that good in at mathematics thank you
