We’re bridging the bridge between the public holiday and the weekend in Germany with two small firmware updates for Philips Hue. There is new software for the Philips Hue Bridge and the Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box 4K. However, there are no major innovations, I can already say that in advance.
Software version 1970188010 for the Philips Hue Bridge delivers improved system performance and reliability. Firmware version 2.5.1 for the old Hue Sync Box only brings a few general bug fixes.
As always, the same applies to these two updates: the firmware is rolled out automatically over several days. It is therefore quite possible that the Hue app will not yet display any updates. In any case, you don’t have to install them manually, they will happen automatically in the background at some point.
We should receive the next software update for the Hue app in the coming week, including the smoke alarm detection for the Hue Secure cameras. Unfortunately, Philips Hue was unable to give me an exact launch date for this feature.
