FabianI’ve already introduced you to some Hue apps for the Mac in the past, but today I have an application for Windows for you. However, this also means that because I don’t have a PC with Windows, I haven’t been able to try ActiveHue out for myself yet. But that’s not a big problem, as the software can be downloaded free of charge from the developer’s website.
The idea behind ActiveHue is quickly explained: in the basic version, you can create up to five profiles. These profiles are automatically activated when the desired window is active in the foreground. For example, bright colors during image editing, bright light during a Zoom meeting or cold light for concentration during text editing.
ActiveHue also offers an extension for the Chrome browser
There is also a Chrome extension. “Your productivity in work mode is accompanied by cool shades of blue and green, while entertainment tabs light up in bright colors,” the developer tells us.
ActiveHue is connected directly to the Hue Bridge and can either access the scenes created in the Hue app or allow you to set individual lamps completely individually. Gradient devices are also supported by the software.
If the five basic profiles are not enough for you, you can create an unlimited number of profiles with the Pro version. Activation currently costs 12.99 US dollars and additional functions are to be added in the future. The developer is also considering an implementation for the Mac, at the latest then I will also try ActiveHue.
