If you have your eye on a particular Philips Hue product and would like to buy from the manufacturer’s official store, then there may currently be a good opportunity for you. Philips Hue has just launched its “New Years Deals” around the globe. In Germany, for example, 82 different products are included in this promotion.
Last week, Philips Hue released the first update of the year for its app. Version 5.33 officially brings a small improvement for Gradient lamps. Under the hood, however, a little more seems to have happened with this update, especially with regard to Hue Secure. If you tap on the small plus symbol at the top right of the Automations section of the Philips Hue app, you will find a new type of automation at the bottom of the list: “Arming schedule – Automate your Secure system to arm and disarm at specific times.”
Shortly after the announcements about Hue Secure and Hue Sync, Philips Hue has delivered the first app update of the year. Version 5.33 of the app is now available for you to download – and there is at least one new function. This revolves around scattered mode, which was originally introduced with the Hue Festavia and is now also available for all other gradient lamps from Philips Hue.
The year 2024 is drawing to a close. In the past 12 months, Philips Hue has launched a number of new products on the market. Late yesterday afternoon, Philips Hue released another update for its app. Version 5.32 is now available to download from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The update includes numerous new features, only one of which is not really new. In the update description, Philips Hue once again announces multi-bridge support – but this has been available since version 5.31.
Black Friday is only just over and the next offers are already starting. The festive sale has started today in the Philips Hue online store, here you can go directly to the promotion page in your country. The rules of the promotion are quickly explained: you can choose from almost 70 products and must add at least two of them to your shopping cart to receive a 15% discount at the checkout.
Since this week, several Bridges can be “connected” to each other in the Philips Hue app – multi-bridge support is finally here. Although lamps and accessories cannot yet communicate with each other across bridges, at least you don’t have to switch between the different bridges every time you want to control the lamps.
If you are one of those people who use a lot of Hue devices and therefore rely on two or more Hue Bridges, then I have very good news for you today. It is now possible to link multiple Bridges together in the Philips Hue app. This means that lights throughout the house can be controlled directly in the Hue app, even if they are linked to different Bridges.

While we continue to wait for the big updates, including multi-bridge support and new 24-hour scenes, Philips Hue is working on some improvements under the hood. The recently released version 5.30 brings some bug fixes and stability improvements. However, I did notice one small new feature, at least on the iPhone.
