More updates for the Hue Bridge and Hue Secure cameras

Philips Hue continues to be active in terms of software development. Just over a week after the last firmware update for the Hue Bridge and Hue Bridge Pro, the next update is already here.

For the Hue Bridge, the update is from version 1976081000 to version 1976124000. For the Hue Bridge Pro, the update is from version 2071258020 to version 2071280000. Both updates have been rolling out since March 20 and should therefore reach your devices over the course of the week.

Unfortunately, I can’t tell you exactly what Philips Hue has changed with this latest update. On its website, the manufacturer simply shares the usual message: “We’ve made several small changes behind the scenes to make your Hue Bridge Pro work even better. ”

What’s new with the Philips Hue Secure cameras

The update descriptions for the Hue Secure cameras are somewhat more informative. There were two consecutive updates here on March 17 and 24.

First, version 1.3.1.1294090 addressed an issue with payment processing. “Reduced onboarding failures due to network connection issues”, says Philips Hue. I’ve heard of some problems with Wi-Fi setup, particularly with the Hue Secure Video Doorbell; hopefully, these are now a thing of the past.

Shortly after, the update to version 1.3.1.1294120 followed, which is aimed at Hue Secure cameras with rechargeable batteries. Here, the manufacturer states the following: “Added warning and support signal for extreme cases of battery failure. Cameras will not operate until resolved.” Unfortunately, I cannot tell you exactly what this means in practice at this time.
