There is another new software update from Philips Hue. This time, the focus is on the Hue Bridge Pro, which is receiving its second firmware update in the second month after its launch. This time, the manufacturer is addressing network problems that could occur under certain conditions.
“We have resolved an issue where in very rare cases the Bridge Pro did not start correctly, and the LEDs kept flashing white when the LAN IP address of the Bridge Pro was in the range 10.x.x.x/8 (i.e. netmask 255.0.0.0),” according to the release notes for version 2071112020.
In recent weeks, I have actually read more and more on social media about white flashing LEDs on the Hue Bridge Pro. In the best case, these will be fixed by the firmware update.
How is the Hue Bridge Pro working for you?
I myself have two of the new control centers in use and fortunately everything has worked smoothly for me. For my large Hue installation at home, I’m still waiting for the update to transfer the lights from the second old Hue Bridge. From what I’ve heard, preparations are already underway behind the scenes for the software update, which is scheduled to be released later this year.
Feel free to write in the comments how things are going with your Hue Bridge. It doesn’t matter whether your experience has been positive or perhaps even negative.

The smart door chime from Philips Hue is also getting an update
There is another firmware update for the Hue Secure Smart Chime. Regarding the update to version 1.123.13, Philips Hue informs us: “Bug fixes, sound library update, and improved sound output.”
Both updates should arrive automatically shortly; updates are usually rolled out over several days.

The new Hue Bridge is interesting. It handles the large number of devices well. I don’t have any additional bugs, or even fewer. Having many motion detectors, I was interested in Motion Aware. As long as the physical installation of the lights is adequate (with some lights that are not on the ceiling), the functionality works really well, it’s impressive.
However, despite all my tests, I wanted to install 2 distincts Motion Aware zones in a large room. Depending on where I am detected in the room, I wanted to adapt the scene. Even if Motion Aware systematically detects me, it rarely changes the scene of this same room when the room is already switched on. I find this a bit disappointing given that the “do not disturb” mode is not activated.
You need a presence detector, mine allows me to change scenes at determined distances, for example, if 1m away then scene 1, if 5m away scene 2 etc… I am using a cheapie from Amazon..
It didn’t initially work with SmartThings…it seems they fixed the problem and I can switch to it
Does Music sync within smart things work for you? I am still not able to find the Bridge Pro with Music sync within Samsung Smart Things.
The Hue Bridge Pro has some pros and cons…
For Hue lights, it works very well, better than the previous generation bridge. It is significantly faster. Also, I reached the light and accessory limit on the old bridge, but now I can finally buy new Hue products again.
However, the new bridge comes with some issues. I have 90% Hue lights, but I also own some non-Hue Zigbee lights. These do not work well with the Bridge Pro. Often, they stay on when I try to turn them off, requiring me to repeat the action several times. Additionally, the Friends of Hue switches are less reliable on the new bridge. I frequently have to press them multiple times for a response, which was not an issue with the old bridge.
Here the switches work better brand Niko
It’s been a mixed bag for me. I think the biggest issue is that performance with HomeKit is now painfully slow with my large setup. Part of the issue might be the move to Matter, which I resisted on my old dual hub setup. The move to Matter also eliminated the ability to add scenes to HomeKit, which I used extensively. I also have two HDMI Sync boxes (8K and 4K), and occasionally the 8K Sync Box would briefly exhibit severe lagging for a couple minutes. This only occurred with the move to the Hub Pro. I think the latest firmware updates might have fixed it however. Performance and stability is better within the Hue app, and the Motion Aware feature is a powerful new addition. It’s also nice to finally be able to freely add new fixtures and scenes without running into limits.
Same same – working fine, just waiting to transfer my second bridge.
So far everything is snappy and performing flawlessly. Granted, I have 100% Hue products which probably helps.
Does anyone know if the new IKEA devices work with the Hub Pro?
Like the Parasoll door sensor?
The newer IKEA devices couldn’t be linked with the old hub
Only the lights…
Thanks for the update. I had noticed the flashing white LEDs on my Hue Bridge Pro so it is great to hear that the new firmware should fix that issue. I am also excited about the improvements to the Hue Secure Smart Chime especially the better sound output. Can not wait to try these updates and see how smoothly everything runs now.
I’m assuming my hub updated yesterday morning as it says up to date but when I woke up all devices showed no response in the HomeKit app which it hasn’t done before with the Bridge Pro so maybe an unlucky side effect of the update.
All back to normal after unplugging / plugging back in.
Other than that the bridge Pro has worked fine.
I want to update for the performance gains and hub combining, but I use a lot of abandonware that won’t support the TLS encryption needed by the Pro.
I know how to build a reverse proxy to bypass this, but it’s so very against the “simple” and “just works” that I like about Hue products. I feel like I’m being pushed more towards Home Assistant than the Bridge Pro.
After upgrading (and transferring) from the Hue Bridge v2 to the Hue Bridge Pro, I haven’t the ability to control it out of home out side of my home Wi-Fi network. No option to set anything and used the transfer steps in the Hue app. Anyone solved this? Can you tell me how?
The issue is this. When you have over 250 devices and we’re waiting for something lime this for years hoping it would be the miracle only to find out that only one bridge can carry over and the other needs to be done manually. Come on manually at this point in time. Has anyone tried to manually take over a 100 devices and try to power cycle them. Sure a light bulb would be easy. But your talking to someone who uses no switches except friends of hue brilliant controls. 32 hardwired lights that you cannot just turn a bulb, 25 outdoor lights in front, 15 in back, and that’s just in the lawn. So when all of a sudden you loose an entire backyard or room and they say well just use a remote. It’s not as easy as it sounds. Listen I know when you start getting high up Into the numbers the lights will revolt against you but when you upgrade in which I have waited many years to do the hope was that you’ve had a unit to use not a ice black paperweight
with non-hue devices (such as the innr outdoor smart plug), every time a search for new devices or a zigbee channel change is performed, the device becomes unreachable and must be re-added each time…
I have a Bridge Pro installed on WiFi – but want to switch it to Ethernet.
Whenever I insert a cable, the connection type changes from WiFi to nothing, and my connections in Apple Homekit and Homey dosent function anymore. I have changed cable, and restarted the Pro Bridge, and reinstalled Hue in Homey. I have restarted all components, but nothing helps.
Is there anyone here, who can tell me how this can be fixed?
Good to hear multi bridge migration should come by or shortly after the end of 2025. The Bridge Pro comes in and out of stock here in the US so I’ll pick one up the next time it’s in stock and wait to migrate everything until that magical multi bridge migration software update.
I had a three Hue Bridge V2 set up controlling 140 lights, 24 switches and 12 sensors split between them. I use Amazon Echo devices for voice control and Logitech Harmony Elite remotes to manually control some of the lighting. The bridges were handling all of that okay but on occasion, some of the response times were very slow and some transitions from one scene to another wouldn’t complete entirely… but for most part, it all worked.
When the new Bridge Pro was announced, I bought three to replace the V2s that I have and just migrated them one at a time, like for like (that was before I read that one Bridge Pro could’ve done the entire house and outdoors). So… a bit overkill, but the response time improved significantly and I have more than enough spare capacity for future.
The only thing that stopped working was the Logitech Harmony remotes. The Harmony hubs simply won’t pair with the new Bridge Pros and I can’t figure out why (any clues anyone?).
Logitech (and all other manufacturers/developers) have to switch to https to communicate with the new Bridge Pro. They Harmony needs an update, which is very unlikely to happen.
Migration from v2 to Pro went fine and everything worked great until this last firmware update. Now something keeps breaking between HomeKit and Hue. Have tried restarting devices, forcing syncing and removing and reading hub and devices but cannot control via Apple Home app or Siri anymore.
Thinking I might have to factory reset the Hue Bridge Pro and start everything from scratch which is a massive pain in the arse. Our home had run without a hitch for several years so regretting upgrading the bridge
Can you keep both a V2 Hub (post migration) in order to retain legacy integration of Harmony remote and a Hub Pro working on the same network ?
