The Hue Bridge Pro has been available in stores for just over a month now. I have already replaced one of my two old Hue Bridges, and I am still waiting for the improved migration feature for the second one. A little patience is still required here, but Philips Hue has now announced the first software update for the Hue Bridge Pro.
Software version 2071112000 is currently being rolled out. As always, my tip is to activate automatic updates, and the new version will then be installed automatically on your Hue Bridge Pro over the next few days. But what has actually changed with the update?
In addition to the obligatory note that some minor changes have been made to improve the Hue Bridge Pro, a small new feature has actually been announced:
We’ve prepared the Bridge to be ready to show your switches, sensors, cameras, and MotionAware areas within the screens of the rooms in which they are located. This will roll out in the app in the coming weeks.
In rooms and presumably also zones, you will then see not only all scenes and lights, but also all accessories that have been configured for that room.
Software update also for the normal Hue Bridge
Incidentally, the same update is also available for the normal Hue Bridge, but here as software version “1973146020”. Interestingly, Philips Hue also mentions the MotionAware zones in the changelog, even though these cannot be used with the Hue Bridge without Pro.
For the sake of completeness, I would also like to mention the latest update for the Hue Secure cameras, which was released at the end of September. The following two new features were integrated:
- Resolved an issue that prevented app settings from saving correctly for users with special characters in their Wi-Fi or camera names. Now you can use any characters without a problem.
- Easily toggle blackout zones and night vision on or off within the app.
Do you know if the newer IKEA sensors will work with the Hub Pro?
Like the Parasoll door sensor?
It was not possible to make them work with the last hub but they are supported by home assistant.
This was basically the only reason I was using home assistant to trigger lights on doors opening.
