FabianThe new Hue Bridge Pro was unveiled less than a week ago, and the first devices have been in use in your homes since the weekend. If you’re on the go with your iPhone and iPad and rely on iConnectHue to configure or control your Hue system, there’s now an important update.
Version 5.12.0 of iConnectHue includes a new migration feature for the Hue Bridge Pro. But be careful not to misunderstand: the initial data transfer from the old Hue Bridge to the new Hue Bridge Pro still runs via the Hue app and is the first thing you need to do. The current update to iConnectHue is only intended to link specific settings and functions within the app to the new bridge.
This means that scenes and magic scenes, animations, and widgets created in iConnectHue will be edited so that they work correctly again after you have migrated from the old bridge to the new bridge in the Hue app.
Here’s what the developer has to say about the new integration
“It may not seem like much, but a lot of changes had to be made under the hood to ensure that everything works reliably. We’ve made a lot of adjustments and optimizations to make sure everything runs smoothly for you. New devices always mean a lot of research, redevelopment, and testing – and we want it to just work for you,” writes developer Stefan Göhler about the latest update. And he’s also added a few little extras: You can check exactly how much capacity is left in the Hue Bridge Pro settings – hopefully significantly more than before.
Unfortunately, Hue Bridge Pro functionality is not automatically available to all iConnectHue users. You must either be a member, have performed the 2025 upgrade, or have purchased the app this year.
