Hue Wall Switch Module: Switch between scenes faster Not only possible with pushbuttons

Not only possible with pushbuttons

In my opinion, the Hue Wall Switch Module is one of the best extensions for the Hue system. It not only solves the light switch problem, but can also be configured individually. In our (german) community there is a rather exciting question about this, which I would like to take care of for you today.

Fittingly for April 1st, I published an announcement about the third generation Hue Bridge, which of course does not exist yet. I actually managed to fool many of you with this April Fool's joke. Some of you were even deeply annoyed that I had led them around by the nose.

Exclusively available from the manufacturer

A fortnight ago, the Philips Hue Tap Dial was released with the new mini mount. While nothing has changed on the switch itself, you get to enjoy a new mount. While the previous mounting plate with its dimensions of just under 8 x 8 centimetres  (in Europe) fit on common empty flush-mounted boxes, the new alternative is limited to a small mini mount with a diameter of only 4.8 centimetres.

My top 3 at a glance

Spring has officially started this week. I haven't really noticed it yet in the last few days. Nevertheless, it's time to get the patio and garden back in shape to enjoy the spring outdoors. Of course, the right light should not be missing. After all, the days will surely come when you can make yourself comfortable again on the lounge in the garden and enjoy the time in the fresh air.

Community question of the week: Gradient light with Ambilight TV Only one colour instead of gradient

Only one colour instead of gradient

Years after the launch of the Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box, it's still a very popular feature of Philips' Ambilight TVs: extending the TV's backlighting to the whole room with Philips Hue bulbs. Hueblog reader Michael asked me a question about this topic: I bought the Gradient Lightstrip Ambiance and connected it to my Philips TV.

Member management officially lands in the Hue app Not yet functional

Not yet functional

About a month ago I was able to report that Philips Hue is planning a member management for its Hue app. In future, a distinction is to be made between members and admins. Now the function has officially arrived in the Hue app. At least that's what the manufacturer writes in the Discover section of the app: Manage access to your lights: Want to share access to your lights with other people?
