Here are the complete release notes from Philips Hue for the new Bridge software:

  • This bridge software version prepares support for many new exciting launches, make sure to stay up to date!
  • We’ve made several small changes behind the scenes to make your Hue Bridge work even better.

Unfortunately, Philips Hue has not revealed what exactly has changed in the new version. However, we do know which new products will be involved.

Over the last few years, I've become a real expert when it comes to Hue & HomeKit. I now have over 50 lamps and numerous switches in use. I'm happy to share my experiences with you in my little blog.

  1. As of this weekend I have problems with my Philips Hue App, Homekit still works fine. But app can not connect to bridge. Flic buttons work just fine but Flic Twist only the button works not the Twist.

  2. The latest hue bridge firmware has been a disaster. Immediately after the update all of my devices were unreachable. A day later, I still have some devices I cannot use at all, and the ones which have reconnected are now really flakey.

This is a really poor experience, and makes me wonder how Phillips thought this firmware was ok to roll out.

    1. Oh, it’s not just me then. I was just trying to update an old backup hue bridge – I have so many lights and switches just disconnecting and failing to work… then later in the day they might work. Then they fail again. Whole house is now hell. :). I’m very close to just rolling my own home assistant controller and taking their bridge out entirely.

  3. 2 of my sensors, after working for the last 5 years now are unreachable. This explains it!
Tried to reset one sensor, even re-add a sensor – the QR code on the back is not a recognised hue code!
